Today, Premier Ernie Eves announced a Cabinet shuffle. The shuffle
was expected since the appointment of the Hon. Helen Johns as Minister
of Municipal Affairs and Housing was on an interim basis. This shuffle
is likely to represent the "line-up" the Premier will work
with leading up to an anticipated election this year.
The following changes announced today are as follows.
Hon. Norm Sterling - Attorney General and Minister responsible
for Native Affairs
Hon. David Young – Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing
Hon. Ernie Hardeman - Associate Minister of Municipal Affairs
& Housing (Rural)
Hon. Frank Klees - Minister of Transportation
Hon. Brian Coburn - Minister of Tourism & Recreation
Other members of the Cabinet remain in their current portfolios. The

David brings a strong background of public service, community activism,
volunteerism and professional success to his position as MPP for Willowdale.
In 1991, he was elected as a Trustee for the North York Public School
Board, where he served the taxpayers of Ward 6 until 1997. During
his two terms with the North York Board of Education, David served
as Vice-Chair of the Board and also represented North York on the
Metropolitan Toronto Board of Education between 1994 and 1997.
A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, David began his legal career
with the law firm of Benson McMurtry in 1981 and became a partner
with the successor firm of Benson Percival Brown in 1987. He is a
member of the Canadian Bar Association, Advocate Society, and the
Toronto Lawyers' Association and has served as legal counsel to numerous
and varied organizations, including the Toronto Police Department
and the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup Committee.
On February 8, 2001, David was appointed by Premier Mike Harris to
Cabinet as Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Native Affairs.
On April 15, 2002, he was re-appointed to that position by Premier
Ernie Eves. He has also served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister
of Finance and, prior to that, as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister
of Education.
