Premier Dalton McGuinty shuffled his Cabinet today, welcoming back
Vaughan-King-Aurora MPP Greg Sorbara as Minister of Finance and Chair of
the Management Board of Cabinet, and re-assigning ministers Dwight Duncan,
Donna Cansfield and Harinder Takhar.
Dwight Duncan, who has been serving as Minister of Finance and Chair of
the Management Board of Cabinet, regains his previous post as Minister of
Energy. He resumes duties as Chair of Cabinet and continues to sit as a
member of the Management Board of Cabinet.
Harinder Takhar leaves the Ministry of Transportation to lead a new
Ministry for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Donna Cansfield leaves the Ministry of Energy to become Minister of
Transportation.
Joe Cordiano, Minsiter of Economic Development & Trade has been
appointed to the powerful priorities and Planning Board of Cabinet.
UDI has sent congratulatory letters to Minister Sorbara and the other
ministers.

Gregory Sorbara becomes Minister of Finance and Chair
of the
Management Board of Cabinet
Greg Sorbara has held a series of senior cabinet posts in two
governments, including the double portfolios of Minister of Colleges and
Universities/Minister of Skills Development and Minister of
Labour/Minister Responsible for Women's Issues. He later served as
Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations and Finance Minister.
Minister Sorbara holds a Bachelor of Arts from
York University's Glendon College and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law
School.
Dwight Duncan becomes Minister of Energy and Chair of
Cabinet
Dwight Duncan was first elected as a Member of Provincial Parliament
in June 1995, and was re-elected to two more consecutive terms to serve
the residents of Windsor-St. Clair. Minister Duncan has served as
Minister of Finance and Chair of Management Board of Cabinet, Government
House Leader, Chair of Cabinet and Minister of Energy.
A graduate of McGill University and the
University of Windsor, Minister Duncan has degrees in economics and
commerce, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
Donna Cansfield becomes Minister of
Transportation
Donna Cansfield was elected as MPP for Etobicoke Centre in 2003
after serving constituents as a school trustee for 15 years. She has
served as Minister of Energy, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of
Energy and lead of the Conservation Action Team.
Harinder Takhar becomes Minister for
Small Business & Entrepreneurship
Harinder Takhar was elected to the Ontario Legislature in October 2003,
and was appointed Minister of Transportation. Minister Takhar holds a
Master's degree in economics and political science, and an undergraduate
degree in English, economics and political science. He is also a Fellow
of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada.
